Rep. Dumnamene Dekor has lauded the Abuja Court ruling that threw away a court action seeking to grab the structure of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Rivers State from Governor Nyesom Wike and his allies.

Dekor representing Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives in a statement made available to GWG further applauded the new court principle of subjecting matters to courts in their immediate jurisdiction.

He spoke against the background of the claims by some supposedly aggrieved members of the PDP who had prayed an Abuja High Court to invalidate the February 2020 congresses of the PDP on the claim that they were excluded.

Responding, Dekor expressed joy that the Abuja High Court was not only insightful to detect that the suit ought to have been instituted in Rivers State where the cause of action originated but also saw with the defence that for the claimants to have filed the same suit before another court was an abuse of court process which would amount to ‘judicial rascality’ if entertained.

Rt. Hon. Dum Dekor while applauding the court ruling as unbiased and instructive, advised the so-called aggrieved party members to pull the veil off their eyes and begin to see the courts in true light as an ‘impartial umpire’ peopled by men and women with deep knowledge of the law and the sacrosanctity of Party Constitution and can therefore not be misled.

He said the recent Ward, Local Government and State Congresses of the PDP in the State were one of the freest, peaceful, fair and credible in the history of party congresses in the State.

Stressing that the new leadership of the PDP has come to stay because it was elected on the principles of equity, the federal lawmaker appealed to the supposedly aggrieved party members to stop wasting their time and resources on litigations and join the party, assuring that the party is the only forum where misgivings and grievances of aggrieved members will be addressed in a manner that will bring satisfaction and lasting peace.
