571 New Cases, 16 Deaths; COVID-19 Bites Harder

Nigeria reported 571 new cases of the COVID-19 pandemic on Sunday across 19 states and the FCT.

The 571 new cases brought the total number of cases of the pandemic in the country to 32,558 with 13,447 recoveries.

There were 16 deaths on the day according to a tweet by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC. The mortalities on Sunday brought the total number of mortalities attributed to the pandemic to 740 in the country.

Sunday was also the second time that Cross River State would make a second report after the initial report of five cases reported about a week ago.

Ebonyi recorded about the highest increase in the number of new cases with 108 new cases reported in the state.
