648 New Cases Take COVID-19 Tally To 41,180

Nigeria recorded 648 new cases of the COVID-19 pandemic on Monday just as it witnessed two mortalities, the smallest number of death in recent times.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC said the 648 new cases were from 20 states and the FCT. Though Lagos State as usual had the highest number of incidents with 180 new cases, there was an unusual spike of the pandemic in Plateau State as the state recorded 148 new cases. It was the highest ever recorded on the plateau.

The new cases brought the total number of infections since the outbreak of the pandemic to 41,180, with 18,203 persons having been successfully treated and discharged.

There were also 860 deaths in the period.
