Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the usual elaborate gathering that would have greeted the wedding of Hanan Buhari, a daughter of President Muhammadu Buhari and Mohammed Turad, a special adviser to Babatunde Fashola, minister of works and housing would be restricted.

Hanan and Turad are set to tie the knot on September 4th at the presidential villa, Aso Rock.

Turad is the son of ex-lawmaker, Mahmud Sani Sha’anan, who served at the House of Representatives from May 2003 to 2007.

The would-be couple have parents who are well-known in the Nigerian political scene with many friends and associates.

However, the COVID-19 pandemic will not allow them to enjoy the usual elaborate gatherings that would have greeted their wedding ceremony.

A copy of the wedding invitation sent to important personalities reads

“In the view of the current COVID-19 pandemic and in compliance with the directives of the relevant health authorities of the country, usual gathering in such events will not, therefore, be held.

We, therefore, use this medium to request you to bear witness of the matrimony as we also solicit for your prayers for the success of the occasion.
