Nigeria’s leading Muslim and Northern actress, Rahama Sadau has appealed for pity after posting a bareback picture that generated controversies.

Speaking to BBC Hausa Service, Sadau expressed regrets over what she thought to be an innocent thing generated controversy over Islam.

“I have mentioned in a video that I regret that act and never thought it will lead to that controversy.

“As a Muslim, people should reason with me that I can never do something that will lead to blasphemy on our prophet PBUH,” she said.

According to her, she posted the pictures as she was wont to in the night but got the shock of it turning to a trend with more than 10,000 views in the morning.

“I just wake up to realised that someone commented on the post on twitter and it was terrible.

“I immediately removed the post and distanced myself from what he has said,” she added.

Ms. Sadau who has been suspended by movie producers in the north on account of the pictures, added:

“Had it been they were just comments by people on the pictures, it won’t bother me. But it really touched my heart that my post led to blasphemy on our prophet.

“Every good Muslim will feel bad about it including me. That is why I did that video and apologised to all.”
