Nigeria’s Oshoala In UEFA’s Top 50 Fans’ Players List

Nigeria’s Barcelona ace, Asisat Oshoala, is one of 50 nominations thrown up by UEFA to be selected in the Fans’ Women’s Team of the Year’ for 2020.

UEFA unveiled the list on Tuesday with Oshoala being the only African on the list for the top female players of the round ball game in Europe.

Others competing for the striker positions on the FIFA shortlist include two Barcelona players and clubs drawn from across Europe including Chelsea, PSG, Lyon, Arsenal, Wolfsburg and Juventus’ players.

Speaking on why Oshoala made the list, UEFA wrote, “Powerful and sometimes unplayable forward with an unerring eye for goal.

“Free-scoring in Barcelona’s title win, either up front on own or partnered with Jenni Hermoso. Another UEFA Women’s Champions League semi-final, a year after scoring in final.”

Football fans from across Europe are expected to make their selections before January 6, 2021.
