BREAKING: ASUU ‘Conditionally’ Calls Off Strike

The Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) on Wednesday said it was “conditionally” suspending its nine month strike.

The strike was initiated in March 2020 following disagreements between the union and the Federal Government over several issues including the forced conscription of lecturers into the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System, IPPIS scheme.

ASUU National President, Biodun Ogunyemi announced the decision to call off the strike at a press briefing in Abuja. He said the decision followed consultations with its National Executive Council (NEC).
