Jos Man Sets Self Ablaze After Fight With Father

A man identified as Muhammad early on Thursday in Jos, Plateau State drenched himself with petrol and set himself ablaze following a dispute with his father the night before.

The incident happened at about 7.30 a.m. at the Peace and Reconciliation Garden according to sources in the Plateau State capital.

An eye witness, Misbahu Usman, who saw it all told Daily Trust:

“There were no many people around during the incident and before we realized what was going on, the fire had already dominated the body and there was no water to put off the fire.

“The available sachet water around was not enough to put off the fire.”

He further said that relatives of the victim who were drawn to the scene came crying and confirmed that he had an altercation with his father on Wednesday night. His body was evacuated to the hospital by the police and the family.
