Senator Escapes With His Life After Gunmen Attack

Senator Adelere Oriolowo, representing Osun West Senatorial District, escaped with his life after gun-wielding thugs attacked him on Sunday during a constituency meeting in Ikire, Osun State.

Oriolowo who confirmed it on his Facebook page said that he was the object of an assassination attack.

“Just escaped an assassination attempt on my life and that of my entourage. To God be the glory, we are safe and alive,” the lawmaker said.

“God is my helper, my shelter and my fortress, I fear no evil.”

Giving details of the attack in a chat with The Punch, the lawmaker’s senator’s senior legislative aide, Adams Adedimeji said:

“The meeting was already in progress when the assailants struck. They shattered the windscreen of his vehicle, but he is okay now. He is already in his Osogbo home,” he added.
