Mobilization for the realization of the 2023 presidential aspiration of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu was boosted on Wednesday night with the resolution of serving and former Speakers of Southwest Houses of Assembly to push the agenda. They said their decision to mobilise for Tinubu was based on the value of his potentials.

The closed door late night meeting held at Carlton Gate Xclusive Hotel, Ibadan, Oyo State resolved that all 20 serving and former speakers at the meeting should take the mobilization to the grassroots by engaging traditional rulers.

The meeting was convened by the incumbent Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa with his immediate predecessor, Adeyemi Ikuforoji also in attendance.

The incumbent Speakers of Oyo, Ekiti and Ondo were, however, not present reflecting the dissonance that the participants pledged to address.

Besides mobilizing traditional rulers, the meeting also pledged to ensure that the power shift agreement in the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC is upheld in 2023.

As a source present said Obasa kickstarted the meeting by seizing the opportunity to formally introduce Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT) Foundation and Movement to the gathering.

BAT Foundation, according to him was meant to break the shackles of poverty in the society and to create a coordinated humanitarian image for the national leader of APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Obasa stated that the National Leader of the APC had not given his blessing, he said the decision to mobilise for Tinubu was to ensure that the region and especially his associates should speak with one voice on the issue.

According to Obasa, all current and former speakers present should after the meeting go back to their respective states to set up the template that would see to the actualisation of the agenda of an Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu presidency come 2023.

An address by Ambassador Aliyu Saulawa, national coordinator of BAT Movement was emphatic in the movement’s readiness to ensure power shift to the southwest and to be clinched by Tinubu.

He lauded Tinubu’s option of embracing principle by supporting President Mohammadu Buhari rather than former Vice President Atiku Abubakar who would have done anything for Tinubu, to win his support.
