There were contradictions on Sunday morning on the fate of Prophet T B Joshua, one of Nigeria’s most known evangelistic ministers whose ministry has also been dubbed with the greatest of controversies.

While some news outlets including Peoples Gazette and Leadership early on Sunday morning reported that the founder of The Synagogue Church For All Nations had died at 57, church sources including some family members were contradicting the claim.

Some alleged that it was fake news.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG has been unable to verify the claim concerning one of Nigeria’s richest evangelists and also undoubtedly one of the most controversial.

His ‘mysterious’ healing powers and lack of conformity with the general tenets of the Christian faith including weird teachings made him to be estranged from the mainstream of the Pentecostal movement in Nigeria.

The weird attitudes of T B Joshua, have, however, helped him financially as he is generally reckoned as among the richest ‘Christian’ evangelists.

Church sources rebuffed claims that the televangelist died after conducting a programme in his Lagos headquarter church on Saturday.

According to Peoples Gazette:

Mr Joshua, the founder of The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN), died in Lagos on Saturday evening shortly after concluding a programme at his church, The Gazette learnt from family sources who did not want to be quoted as an official statement was still being prepared. He was 57.

The cause of death was not immediately disclosed to The Gazette, but family sources said his remains had been deposited at the morgue and an autopsy would be performed forthwith.

However, a close associate and friend of T B Joshua, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has debunked the news describing it as fake.

Fani-Kayode said:

“The story that is being peddled around by some fake news merchants that my dearest friend and brother, Prophet T.B. Joshua of SCOAN, is dead is FALSE!

“It is FAKE NEWS in its most hideous form. The Prophet is alive and well and he shall live long and prosper. Glory hallelujah!”.

Reports had said the Founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations(SCOAN) died after concluding a church programme.
