Deji Adeyanju, a popular Abuja-based activist, has disclosed what informed the Federal Government decision to lift the ban on micro-blogging site, Twitter in Nigeria.

Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed had a in june announced the ban on Twitter.

Mohammed had said the operation of Twitter was banned in Nigeria due to the indiscriminate use of the platform by Nigerians for activities capable of understanding the corporate existence of Nigeria.

But, on Wednesday he informed that the ban will be lifted in a few days.

Speaking after the federal executive council meeting in Abuja, the minister said Twitter has agreed to the terms laid down by the federal government and the final details of the agreement will be hashed out in coming days.

Reacting to the development, Adeyanju said President Muhammdu Buhari and his aides were eager to return to Twitter as they are tired of other social media platforms.

However, Adeyanju advised the President and his aides should remain on the KOO platform.

In a tweet, Adeyanju wrote: “Buhari is tired of KOO, wants to come back to Twitter urgently which is why they are looking for ways to suspend Twitter ban in Nigeria. We don’t want him and his clueless aides back on this app. KOO is where they belong permanently.”
