Manchester United survived by the skin of the teeth on Saturday afternoon despite dominating possession against Everton in the early game of the sixth game of the 2021/22 premiership round of matches as scores ended 1-1.

The result meant that both sides after entering the game with 13 points apiece with Manchester United at second position and Everton at third being separated with goal difference remained with the same points and position pending the other games at hand. However, what many would go away with was the way Andros Townsend celebrated his equaliser in a near imitation of Manchester United’s Ronaldo, going to the corner to heave his chest.

Manchester United had taken the lead through a well-deserved left shot by Anthony Martial in the 42nd minute to cap a half that the Reds dominated possession but were largely frustrated by the Rafel Benitez tutored team.

Andros Townsend equalized for Everton in the 65th minute minutes after the hosts had brought in their celebrated goal poacher, Cristano Ronaldo and Pogba to add bite to the Manchester United forward line.

Despite dominating possession by more than 70%, Manchester United could only manage about six goals on target with only one hitting home.

What could have been a sorrowful ending for Manchester United was ruled offside after Everton forward Yerry Mina did a tap in that needed the VAR to determine it was not a goal.

An otherwise decision would have been calamitous for Manchester United after the last home defeat in the hands of Aston Villa.
