Reno Omokri Kicks Against Hisbah’s Move To Question Miss Nigeria’s Parents

Former presidential aide Reno Omokri has reacted to Islamic police, Hisbah’s decision to interrogate parents of Miss Nigeria 2021, Shatu Garko, over their daughter’s participation in the beauty pageant which she won last Friday, December 17.

You would recall that Haruna Ibn-Sina, Kano Hisbah board commandant, in an interview with BBC Pidgin described Garko’s participation in the beauty pageant as “illegal”.

Ibn-Sina added that participation in beauty pageantries is against Islamic tenets, and Garko’s action could encourage other girls to do same.

In a post shared on his Instagram page, Reno Omokri wondered why the Islamic police wants to interrogate the parents of the 18-year-old queen when they haven’t interrogated others who were found wanting. His post reads;

”Kano’s Hisbah want to interrogate, Miss Nigeria, Shatu Garko, and her parents, over her unIslamic participation in Miss Nigeria? Wonderful! Kano’s Governor was caught on camera stashing bribes in dollars. Has the Hisbah interrogated him? What happened to the Hisbah commander that was caught in a hotel with a married woman in February? Or they think we have forgotten? Perhaps the Hisbah commander was teaching the married woman bedroom Hisbah? Or are those acts not unIslamic?
