Hours after it expelled two of its executive members, the Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC has cautioned the general public against dealing with its erstwhile state deputy chairman Chief Cyril Ogodo who it claimed had been expelled from the party.

The party in a communique signed by the legal adviser, E.V. Onojeghuo, Esq who is also acting as publicity secretary and made available to  GreenWhiteGreen GWG said that the alleged actions of Ogodo were aimed at bringing the party into public oppobrium and disrepute.

The APC had earlier expelled Sylvester Imonina, the state party spokesman and state welfare officer, Precious Enuenweayoi.

The party in its action against Ogodo detailed allegations of collaboration with the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa led administration among other issues for the decision to expel the erstwhile deputy chairman. However, there was no evidence given for the allegation of collaboration and Ogodo could not be immediately reached on other grave allegations that were made against him in the communique.

The state party said that it acted upon “reports/letters of expulsion from the Executive Committee of Ward 9, Sapele Local Government in respect of Chief Cyril Ogodo, a former deputy chairman of the Party, wherein serious allegations were levelled against him.”

He was accused of among others of “Various acts of Anti-party activities that are inimical to the well being and progress of the Party. Creating fraction and disaffection amongst members of the Party,” among others.

“Carrying out activities that are inimical to the progress, and the name of the Party thereby bringing the name of the Party into public oppobrium and disrepute

“The State Caretaker Committee of the Party, having considered the reports and grave allegations against Chief Cyril Ogodo, hereby expel him with IMMEDIATE EFFECT from the Party in line with provisions of Article 21 of the Party’s Constitution.”

“Members of the Party and the general public are therefore advised not to have any dealing with him in respect of the Party and/or any of its activities.”

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that Ogodo had until recently been a steadfast loyalist of the Omo-Agege tendency in the Delta State chapter of the APC.
