Again, Ekiti Police Arrest Thugs

The Ekiti State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of another suspected group of political thugs with guns and other dangerous weapons.

This is coming after, about one hundred armed thugs were apprehended at border town of Ekiti.

The spokesperson for the Ekiti State Police Command, “On 26th January, 2022 at about 1830hrs,revealed that the operatives of Ijero Divisional Police Headquarters while on patrol led by the DPO sighted a Toyota Hiace Bus parked by the roadside with about twelve hefty men suspected to be thugs.

“The Police operatives advanced toward the suspected men and on sighting the Police, they abandoned their Bus and fled into a nearby bush.

“The operatives, however, gave them a hot chase and arrested two of them, the abandoned Toyota Hiace Bus was subsequently searched and items recovered include, Four(4) single barrel guns, One(1) cut to size locally made pistol, Seven(7) cartridges, Substance suspected to be charms.

Abutu affirmed that the arrested suspected thugs have been transferred to the State Headquarters for further investigation.
