He said that the system collapse on the National Grid was caused by a weak transmission system which was inherited from the previous administration.

In a tweet, Ahmad compared the national grid collapse Nigeria is experiencing to what used to be the case.

He pointed out that Nigeria experienced 42 grid collapses in 2010, but experienced only four collapses in 2020.

Ahmad wrote: “When we’re ready to have this convo, we’ll know that the power sector has improved under this administration.

“Grid collapse is usually caused by a weak transmission system (inherited). Intensive work being done to fix that is obvious. We had 4 collapses in 2020, we recorded 42 in 2010,” Bashir said in asserting that electricity supply has improved under the Buhari administration.

The national grid collapsed on Monday morning, March 14,  and at about 5pm on Tuesday, March 15.
