Senator Francis Arthur Nzeribe whose death was announced on Sunday died on Thursday, May 5, 2022 according to a statement just issued by the family on the loss of its mighty Iroko and asked the public to allow members mourn him privately.

A statement signed by three family members formally announcing the passage of the maverick politician said the family was proud of his legacies, notably being proud of the world wide acclaim the Nzeribe brand received worldwide.

Nevertheless, the family called on all to respect the privacy of the Nzeribe family at this time as it asked that the family should be allowed to mourn in private.

“While we are pained by this loss, we are proud of this African Legend who distinguished himself in various fields including sports, International Business, Politics and gave the Nzeribe brand worldwide acclaim,” the statement signed by Ojiabu Francis Anyegbu Nzeribe, Anthony Akpati Nzeribe and Ojiabu Oliver Nwedo Nzeribe deposed.

Continuing, the statement said:
“The family has immediately commenced the necessary traditional consultations and will in due course, release a programme for his funeral rites.

“We appeal to the public to respect the privacy of the family and the solemnity of this event to enable us grieve in peace.”

No explanation has, however, been given why the death of Nzeribe was kept quiet for three days and the reason for family members to mourn him privately.
