The recent PDP convention was reportedly characterised with bribery of the delegates with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC intervening on the day of the convention.

Sabo said he wasn’t afraid that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission might come after him, saying “I satisfied my conscience and all my people are happy”

He added that he made a promise to his constituents to give back whatever monetary benefits he got at the PDP primary if elected as a delegate.

On how the money was disbursed, the delegate said he paid N6.9 million as “WAEC and NECO examination fees for 150 orphans and the underprivileged” and added that he gave N100,000 as logistics to the five-man committee set up to go round the schools and pay the examination fees because “implementation is important”.

Although Sabo refused to mention the name or names of the politicians that gave him the money, he however stated that they were many.

This report has gained massive reactions from social media users, see some comments:

@oneoface: The Northerners are the origin of what ever Nigerians are facing , my reasons ,they have made their youths lazy and have thought them that politics is just business where you vote and cash out money ?, same money that was meant to develop their communities and build facilities

@kingsnyemu: A Delegate doing what our leaders can’t do. Just 7m and he was able to change lives as he promised

@mypretyeyes: He promised to collect bribe and share the bribe which in your thoughts makes him a good person Okay .

New Permutations On PDP Vice-Presidential Candidate As Wike Visits Atiku

@okezieokezie: These are the kind of people choosing who we should vote for power. Nigeria is far to recover.

@i_amod_sit: When people reported delegates were paid as much as $10k, $15k, $20k etc in the PDP primaries, they derided people for believing such story. Isn’t this story a confirmation?

This is what people encourage in the name of having political structures.

@yhur_savior: And the so called EFCC were at the primaries venue with initial gra gra, now they have proof. How can this be seen as normal? We’re beginning a new type of corruption

@i_amod_sit: How can you be an advocate of a good governance and support this?

Now, people will begin paying heavily to become delegates, delegates will begin to ask for higher amounts to vote in primaries so they recoup their money. Everything funded by public funds.

@ajarala1: This man should be commended. He is generous. He is kind. He shared. His colleagues from the East would never share with ordinary people.
