Nigerians have been venting their anger on social media after First Lady, Aisha Buhari celebrated the graduation of Zahara Bayero Buhari, the wife of the president’s son, Yusuf Buhari in a United Kingdom university amid the seven month shutdown of public universities on account of the ASUU strike.

The picture of the celebration has generated strong reactions on social media with many Nigerians beefing that the family of the First Family are seemingly riding high while the education system managed by President Muhammadu Buhari has ground to a halt with the universities shut for the past seven months.

GWG reports that Zahara Buhari who married Yusuf Buhari more than a year ago in a loud and celebrated wedding emerged with a first class in Architectural Science from Coventry University. She is the daughter of the emir of Bichi and a niece of the emir of Kano.

The First Lady had posted the joyous occasion on her Facebook page with thousand of likes and comments.

However, many were also vicious in their comments on twitter bringing to question the propriety of the nation’s leaders abandoning the local educational institutions while at the same time sending their children abroad to study.

GWG reports that after more than seven months of seeming quietness that students under the aegis of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS have recently commenced mobilization and occupying public roads and infrastructure to draw the attention of the public to their fate.

Last Monday, the action of the NANS activists in Lagos led to the disruption of several flights out of Lagos as passengers were unable to make their way to the airport.

GWG gathered some of the reactions on social media of the graduation of the daughter-in-law of Aisha Buhari in a UK university in the midst of the ASUU strike.
