Mary Remmy Njoku Slams Those Who Shame Nigerians For Speaking With An Accent

Popular Nollywood actress Mary Remmy Njoku has questioned the depiction of fellow citizens who speak with Nigerian accents as “local”.

The actress/producer said there are foreigners in Nigeria who speak English with an accent but they are not shamed for that, yet Nigerians shame themselves for speaking with an accent.

She encouraged Nigerians to embrace their accents and leave the foreign accents for when they travel abroad.
