2023: Oby Ezekwesili Selects the Best Among Atiku, Tinubu, Obi

Former Nigerian minister Dr Oby Ezekwesili has stated that despite belonging to the same political class as other candidates in the upcoming election, Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) has the pedigree to turn things around and remains the best of the three front runners for Aso Rock.

On Channels TV’s Sunday Politics on Sunday, Dr Oby Ezekwesili stated that Peter Obi possesses qualities that both Tinubu and Atiku lack.

GWG.NG reports that the former minister has been a vocal supporter of political change since the abduction of the Chibok girls during the administration of then-President Goodluck Jonathan. She was instrumental to the formation of the current government, but has since disowned it due to poor performance.

“Somebody says to you, between a cast of possible presidents that include the three frontrunners that we currently have – a possible President Tinubu, Atiku, and Obi – do you need anybody to tell you where you would be going? It would be an Obi.

“Regardless of the fact that he comes from that particular political class that we are talking about, he still at least represents many more shapes than the other two top candidates (in reference to Atiku and Tinubu),” she added.

The problem of the country, according to the former minister was that of bad leadership, expressing hope that the current political awakening in the country, especially among youths, will change the narrative for good. 

She also lamented the country’s leadership problem, adding that the country has recorded stunted growth as a result of it.
