Gunmen Who Attacked Ifeanyi Ubah Arrested – Soludo
Some of the gunmen involved in the September 11, 2022 attack on Senator Ifeanyi Ubah have been arrested, Governor Chukwuma Soludo revealed on Friday.
GWG.NG reports that Senator Ifeanyi Ubah escaped by the whiskers when the gunmen waylaid him as he passed through Enugwu-Ukwu community in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State on his way to Awka following an activity in Nnewi.
At least four of his security aides and two of his advisers were shot dead.
Ifeanyi Ubah, however, escaped as he was embedded in a bulletproof vehicle.
Governor Soludo who confirmed the arrest of some of the gunmen said that security men were on the trail of the others yet to be apprehended.
GWG.NG reports that the Anambra governor spoke at the burial of Pa Boniface Nwankwo, the father of Hon. Dozie Nwankwo, the representative of Dunukofia/Njikoka/Anaocha Federal Constituency.
Governor Soludo said: “Three weeks ago, it was in this same community that some elements chose to attack Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.
“I want to tell you that we have arrested a number of those involved in that attack.
“We are still on the trail of the remaining people.
“We will not let people like that define who we are.
“This is Anambra State and we are peaceful people.
“We must embrace peace, even in the coming election.
“Anambra is peaceful and safe.
“We have chased away bad elements in the state.
“The pockets of crime you hear of are just a small number of the bad elements left.
“They will not disappear in one night, even in civilised places.
“There are still few bad elements.”
