Dancing Senator Transforms To Executive Governor: Adeleke Takes Oath Amid Fanfare In Osun
Senator Ademola Adeleke, famous for his dancing prowess has been inaugurated as the governor of Osun State having taken his oath of office.
GWG.NG reports that the oath of office was administered on Senator Adeleke by the State Chief Judge, Justice Oyebola Adepele-Ojo, around 11:45am.
Adeleke had arrived the venue sometime around 11:20 am and was escorted into the stadium by his nephew, David popularly known as Davido. On arrival he quickly moved round the stadium to the cheers of waving supporters.
Following his arrival, his deputy Prince Kola Adewusi took his oath of office. Following the administration of the oaths on the deputy, Senator Adeleke took his turn to take his oaths as governor of Osun State.
GWG.NG reports that Senator Adeleke came to public renown for his impressive dancing prowess even as a plus size distinguished senator. Whether he would also be termed a dancing governor will, however, be seen in the future. His elder brother, the late Senator Isiaka Adeleke was the first civilian governor of the state.
Meanwhile, his predecessor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola on the eve of the inauguration said that he was leaving behind the sum of N14 billion in cash for his successor.
He said this in a speech he delivered on Saturday. He said:
“As I step aside today following the conclusion of the four-year tenure you freely gave me, I thank God and I thank you for your support, cooperation and prayers over the years.
“I recall how the journey began four years ago; how by your belief in me and your conviction in the plans and programmes of our Party, you exercised your right to vote for me.
