Okupe Resigns As Peter Obi’s Campaign Manager

Dr Doyin Okupe has resigned his position as director-general of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign, Doyin Okupe GWG.ng reports.

In his letter of resignation addressed to Dear Peter, Dr Okupe said that he had invested so much in the campaign to allow his personal travails to turn into an encumbrance.

His resignation was conveyed in a letter to the presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi. He affirmed in his letter of resignation that he took the decision to enable him pursue his appeal against his conviction for violating the money laundering act.

He had been convicted by a Federal High Court on Monday for accepting money above the threshold as prescribed by the Money Laundering Act.
