Kuda Bank downtime

The fintech banking giant, Kuda has again assured customers of the safety of their funds 24 hours after the online bank went on a downtime.

GWG.ng reports that customers of the online bank have expressed bewilderment after some of those who were able to open their apps saw their balances reflecting zero.

Reacting for the second time in as many days, Kuda in a statement on Wednesday afternoon assured customers that their funds were safe and that they would be able to access their accounts once the issues were resolved.

The bank said:

“We’re sorry that you still haven’t been able to use your Kuda app. We’re working with our cloud services provider to sort out the downtime, and we’ll let you know when it’s been fixed. Your money remains safe and you’ll be able to access it as soon as services are restored.”

“We know that the ₦0.00 balance error reported by several people is worrying but we assure you that it’s just what the app is displaying because of the downtime, not the amount of money you actually have. We’ll keep sharing updates as we make progress.”

GWG.ng reports that it was the second message and followed a message on Tuesday after the application went on an extended downtime.

Though Kuda apps have in the past been known to experience a downtime this is about the longest downtime that the strictly online bank is known to have experienced.

Kuda was founded in 2019 by two Nigerians, Babs Ogundeyi and Musty Mustapha and has now grown to become about the leading strictly online bank in the country. It is registered by the regulatory authorities.
