Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate was trending on Thursday morning after pictures emerged of him pocketing his hands during the recitation of the national anthem at the signing of the peace candidates by the 2023 presidential candidates the previous day.

The apparent fiasco by Tinubu came about a week after Tinubu was sighted raising his hands at the rendition of the national anthem at the APC presidential campaign rally in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State.

At that occasion, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole had to signal Tinubu to bring down his hands. It was as such a bit of humour on Thursday when some Nigerians blamed AAC presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore who stood beside Tinubu for not signalling him to remove his hands from his pocket at the occasion.

Tinubu’s associates were yet to come to his defence over the national anthem fiasco on Thursday morning but many critics rationalised it to several factors.

Nd @Ndukwe39787144

I can tell u that it got nothing to do with pride, d pure truth is dat d man is out of touch wit reality, he dont know what to do as at when due, he did know what & why everybody was standing so he stood u too, in PH he surrended wit his staff raised up,

OBI SOJA @Nnaneya

He needs guidance from the people around him on what to do. I blame @YeleSowore

who was standing next to him to tell him that the national anthem was on…when we say the man is senile it’s not a joke.
