The Lagos State Government has put Chrisland High School in Ikeja on probation for one academic session in order to monitor adherence to safety policies and guidelines.

This information was provided on Tuesday, April 4, by the State Commissioner for Education, Folasade Adefisayo, during a report on a recent meeting between the administration of Chrisland Schools and government organizations working under the Lagos State Joint Task Force responsible for implementing the child protection and safeguarding policy.

The Joint Task Force meeting, which was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education, instructed Chrisland to clarify leadership responsibilities and strengthen risk and safety.

Additionally, the management of Chrisland Schools has been instructed by the Lagos State Ministry of Education to immediately adopt both short-term and long-term reforms in school governance.

Likewise the school administration has been instructed to hire a certified risk manager to perform and provide a thorough analysis of the risk management of the group of schools as well as to make sure that all students, staff, and stakeholders of the school who were impacted by the death of Miss Adeniran receive psycho-social therapy and trauma counseling.

Ibironke Adeyemi, the Managing Director of Chrisland Schools, who accompanied school administration to the meeting, made a commitment that the institution would adhere to all requirements set forth by the Ministry.
