A middle-aged man named Mr. Ogheneovo reportedly killed himself in Delta State after his wife and kids abandoned him.

The deceased, who lived in Okumagba Layout’s Gesimisi Street, in the state’s Warri South Local Government Area, reportedly drank an insecticide there.

Despite the fact that he did not leave a suicide note, sources claimed that the deceased’s behavior might not have been unrelated to his wife and children deserting him in January.

According to the sources, the late Ogheneovo’s wife had left him as a result of his alcoholism and ongoing violence.

A fellow tenant alleged that “the wife, who could no longer tolerate the abuse, left with her three children, but left behind the eldest one.”

It was learned that the deceased had called his son in a panic and requested a callback. The son reportedly was unable to promptly return thencall since he was preoccupied with customers at his shop at the time.

Further information revealed that the boy afterwards hurried home because his father had stopped returning his calls. He was horrified to find his father’s dead body on the bed with an insecticide can by his side.

The deceased allegedly tried suicide by hanging at some point in the past but was caught in the act and saved by a neighbor.
