Abia Native Doctor Inflicts Wounds On Children, Flees

A native doctor in Ania, Akanu, Ohafia LGA of Abia State has abandoned his town after inflicting machete wounds on two children.

The community accused the native doctor, named as Emea Ibe, of inflicting machete wounds on 10-year-old Friday Ota Awa and his step-sister Kosisochukwu on the grounds that they were to blame for the loss of his sheep.

The boy’s family reportedly denied the native doctor’s claim that Awa beat his sheep to death. Awa was allegedly dragged, bound, and attacked with a machete by Ibe at his shrine in an effort to coerce a confession from him.

Ibe grabbed Kosisochukwu, his sister, and whacked her with the same machete when she begged the native doctor to save her brother’s life. Ibe then said that nothing would happen even if he murdered them.

The victim’s mother, who reportedly has asthma, and their father, who supposedly has had a stroke, were helpless and unable to save their children from the local doctor.

Ezieogo Mba Okereke, the traditional leader of Akanu, denounced the situation and claimed he had given the community’s other native doctors the order to find their missing colleague and bring him to justice.

The king, who denounced the native doctor’s behavior, vowed that the issue would not be ignored because he is willing to defend the rights of harmed children. Youths from Ania Akanu have also promised to apprehend the eluding native physician and prosecute him.
