Founder of “The Dennis Osahon Aikoriogie Foundation and CEO, Hobnob Media Nigeria Limited, Dr. Dennis Osahon Aikoriiogie has marked his birthday with activities that saw him donating foodstuff, clothing materials, cash for businesses, paying medical bills, and other goodies to the less privileged.

The goodwill gestures were carried out on his birthday on June 14, 2023.

Speaking on the development, Aikoriogie, a 2024 governorship hopeful in Edo State said he decided to celebrate with the needy as his tradition because he is close to them and knows their feelings and areas of need, especially with the hardship in the country.

He disclosed that the problem of unemployment faced in the country today arose from the government’s ‘complete import orientation’, which has led  Nigeria into being a dumping ground and a consuming nation.

He warned that until Nigerians change their orientation and embrace import-substitution by massive industrialization, the country would continue to struggle with the problem of unemployment and devaluation of the Naira.

He also linked the level of unemployment to lack of vocational skills which accounts for the high percentage of Nigerians not being employed.

“Nigerian graduates should be technically inclined, and therefore, fit into any manufacturing industries and reduce the number of foreigners becoming our expatriates. Today, Nigerians depend on imported goods, even with lots of natural resources, we still cannot help ourselves in terms of producing furniture and other basic needs, because our people do not have the required knowledge and skill to produce, which we need to train them on,” Dr Aikoriogie said.

He noted that he derives happiness through his establishments which he said has enabled him to be able to put smiles on the faces of people and also put food on their tables.

He nevertheless lamented that one of the major challenges faced by the country is the issue of power to drive industries, saying they have remained in business because of the passion to keep their aim and objectives of offering jobs to thousands of unemployed youths.
