Governor Directs Civil Servants To Report In Churches, Mosques To Pray For Rain On Tuesday

The Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has directed civil servants in the state to report in their churches and mosques on Tuesday morning to pray for rain in the state. .
The measure was taken as a proactive step to address the pressing issue of scarcity of rainfall in the state.
The Governor directed that all Civil Servants in the state, regardless of their religious affiliations, participate in the collective prayer for rain.
The governor’s directive was conveyed in a statement signed by Yakubu Mamman for the State Acting Head of Civil Service.
According to the statement which was issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Ismaila Uba Misilli on Monday, the prayer is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, by 8:00 a.m.
During the three-hour prayer period, both Christian and Muslim civil servants are encouraged to gather at their respective praying grounds and churches to seek divine intervention for the rain. The statement added that all the civil servants are expected to return to work at 11:00 a.m. following the completion of the prayers.
“His Excellency, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya CON (Dan majen Gombe), the Executive Governor of Gombe State has directed that all Civil Servants in the State, both Christians and Muslims attend the ongoing prayers for rainfall at their respective praying grounds and churches on Tuesday, 12th September 2023 from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. “All Civil Servants are expected to resume work at their respective offices after the prayers,” Mamman said of the directive to Gombe civil servants to pray for rain.
