BREAKING: NLC, TUC Give Directive To Shut Down Economy

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have all affiliate unions to shut down the economy on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 following the failure of the Federal Government to yield to the demands of organized labour.

GWG.ng reports that in a renewed show of solidarity the presidents of the two unions, Joe Ajaero and Festus Osifo disclosed this in a joint press conference following an emergency meeting of the National Executive Committees of the two unions.

The unions have demanded that the government should among others offer lasting palliatives to ameliorate the consequences of the increase in fuel prices.
