The professor’s son, David Ndifon, confirmed his abduction on Thursday.

He said the gunmen invaded their residence, fired gunshots sporadically and also pointed gun at members of the family.

“It is true. He was taken away by gunmen. The incident happened between the hours of 11 p.m. on Wednesday and the early hours of Thursday.

“We have been trying our best and making necessary calls to ensure his safe return,” his son, David said.

His wife also confirmed his abduction by gunmen saying;

It is true that my husband was abducted this early morning by heavy-armed men, and I pray he comes back alive.

“I don’t know what he did to deserve all of this treatment. I don’t simply know what to do. “

Ndifon had earlier raised the alarm that he was trailed to church premises by some masked men who also attempted to abduct him.

Remember how law students demonstrated in front of the VC’s office on August 14, 2023 and accused the former dean of sexual harassment, extortion, and being overbearing among other things.

The university authorities established an investigation panel in the wake of the protest to look into the allegations of wrongdoing made against Prof. Cyril Ndifon, the dean of law who had been suspended.

Earlier this week, the investigative panel gave Vice Chancellor Prof. Asserting her belief that the report would benefit the university and serve as a useful resource for other universities, Florence Obi.

She pledged to present the report to the ministers of education and women’s affairs, as well as the Executive Secretary of the National University Commission (NUC), “nothing added, nothing taken away.”
