In an exclusive podcast interview, Liya, the artist once celebrated as DMW’s first lady, has candidly shared her reasons for abruptly leaving the prestigious record label helmed by Davido.

Despite her noteworthy releases like “Lakiriboto” and “Melo” during her tenure with DMW, Liya felt that her career was not getting the attention and support it deserved. This perception led her to a difficult decision: parting ways with the label that once represented her.

During the interview, Liya explained that her departure was primarily motivated by her belief that her musical journey required a fresh start, one where she could have the focus and backing necessary to flourish. She expressed the need to carve her own musical path in a direction that felt authentic and supportive.

Despite her exit, Liya made it clear that her admiration for DMW’s current roster of artistes remained intact. She expressed her continued support for the label and its new talents, extending her best wishes to them in their musical endeavors..
