The National Vice Chairman, South-South, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Chief Dan Osi Orbih has lamented the death of the party’s National Woman Leader, Prof Stella Effah-Attoe, saying her passage has thrown the party in the South-South into deep mourning.

“The news of her death is shocking and very devastating to me and the entire people of the South South zone of the party. Prof. Ettah-Attoe was not just a leader, she was a national asset. She was one of the brightest minds I have known and her death will not only leave a vaccuum within the party, but the academic community, Cross River and the entire nation.

Continuing, Orbih said: “Prof Effah-Attoe was in her lifetime a very significant contributor to the growth of our great Party, PDP at the Zonal and National level. She lived a very sociable and infectious life, easy-going, humble,  likeable and compassionate. Her role as a stakeholder  to the growth and development of PDP and to the nation cannot be easily forgotten.

“During her remarkable lifetime, she made significant contribution towards the academics. She was an astute politician who stood for justice, equity and fairplay. She was a committed advocate for the rights of women in politics.

“While she served as the National Leader of PDP, she infused academics into her leadership role which helped to up the ante from where she took over the reins from to enviable position until her death.

“She will greatly be missed. May God Almighty grant all those she left behind the fortitude to bear the loss of her departure.”
