Adamawa Tops In Police Recruitment Applications In North East Region

Adamawa State in Northeast Nigeria has ranked first among its peers in the subregion with highest number of applicants for the recruitment of constables into the police.

The state ranked first with 36,398 applicants while Borno State followed with 32,048, and followed by Bauchi State with 30,604 applicants.

The Spokesperson of the Police Service Commission (PSC), Ikechukwu Ani made the disclosure in Abuja on Sunday.

According to Ani, Kaduna State also topped others in the Northwest and Nigeria with 40,272 applicants.

Katsina State followed with 30,202 applicants while Kano came third with 30,004 in the Northwest.

Meanwhile the PSC said it has so far received a total of 547,774 applications in the police recruitment portal, expected to close on November 26.

Ani explained that: “Out of the 547,774 applicants, 358,900 were successfull and have qualified for the next round of the recruitment process.”

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), other states included Benue State in the North Central with 31,122 applicants, topping others in the subregion.

Meanwhile those with lowest applicants in the country included Anambra State with 1,664 applicants followed by Ebonyi with 2,132, then Lagos State with 2,324 applicants.

Others included Bayelsa State with 2,651 and Abia State with 2,796.

Ani further stated that while 84,606 applicants were rejected for over age, the Chairman of PSC, Solomon Arase expressed satisfaction with the number of applications already received.
