Chief Chukwuemeka Eze, a redoubtable ally of former transportation minister, Rotimi Amaechi, has accused President Bola Tinubu and the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr Umar Ganduje of plotting to annihilate the political machine of the former minister through the handover of the APC structure in Rivers State to Nyesom Wike.

Eze who is embedded in the Amaechi camp but does not speak officially for him gave the first formal reaction of associates of the former minister to hand over the APC structure to Wike.

GWG.ng reports that Wike’s Man Friday, Chief Tony Okocha was recently appointed as chairman of the seven-man caretaker committee to manage the affairs of the APC in Rivers State. The committee is expected to also conduct a fresh registration of party members in the state putting forward the scenario that Amaechi and his associates would have to queue behind Wike’s protégés to register into the APC.

Denouncing the development, Eze in a statement made available to GWG.ng said that President Tinubu, APC National Chairman, Umar Ganduje and the cabal carefully plotted the scheme to hand over the state chapter of the party to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and write off Amaechi and his team notwithstanding the very many wars the latter fought to prune and nurture the party to its sustainable status.

According to the passionate Amaechi ally and APC Chief, Wike’s appointment as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the detriment of faithful APC leaders in Rivers State was enough compensation for the illegality and shame he allegedly brought to electoral process and democracy during the last election, in a false bid to claim victory for Tinubu.

“It is however unfortunate that all the appointments so far made by Tinubu and his government have only favored Wike and his circle,” Eze said.

Eze Called on Ganduje and the National leadership of the party to note that their action could be prejudicial as the dissolution of the state exco is pending before a court of competent jurisdiction, before which an ex parte motion was also filed praying that parties maintain status quo – which means shelving the inauguration of the interim committee.

The Amaechi ally reiterated that if all these plots is to decimate the political structure of Amaechi that  will surely amount to exercise in futility as we remain resolute and unshakable and will resist this evil plot no matter the odds

The party stalwart urged party faithful across the state and people of goodwill to be unwavering in their support for Amaechi pending the birth of a new phase.
