Fubara commissioners moved

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State expressed his unwavering commitment to peace in the state, stating that no price is too great to ensure harmony.

The governor made these remarks during a special convocation ceremony at Pamo University of Medical Sciences on Tuesday, December 19.

The political landscape in Rivers State has witnessed tension, with a notable feud between Governor Fubara and Minister Nyesom Wike. The fallout led to a split among lawmakers in the House, as 27 of them defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Additionally, nine commissioners from Governor Fubara’s cabinet tendered their resignations.

Speaking at the convocation ceremony, Governor Fubara acknowledged the support he received from the people of Rivers State during this challenging period. He emphasized the significance of peace and reassured the public of his commitment to paying any necessary price for the overall well-being of the state.

“Let me say this to my dear state. I call you my dear state because the support you have shown to me within this period is immeasurable. There is no amount that is too big to pay for peace. I will continue to pay it,” he stated.
