Nollywood actor and politician Yul Edochie has moved to publicly address his first wife, May, over her reflective post on the challenges of 2023.

May shared on New Year’s Day that the year brought numerous adversities and misfortunes, describing it as catastrophic. She revealed that the worst part was the loss of their first child, Kambilichukwu, in March, leaving her devastated.

Responding to her post, Yul accused May of undergoing breast enlargement surgery in 2023 without his consent. He also cautioned her against manipulating public opinion on social media to foster resentment towards him.

In a subsequent post, Yul disclosed that May had filed for divorce but refused to return the bride price. He urged her to return the bride price, stating that he had requested it multiple times, but her family vehemently refused, expressing confusion over the situation.

The controversy in Yul’s personal life emerged in April 2022 when he announced his marriage to actress Judy Austin Moghalu as his second wife. The revelation included the introduction of their first son.

Tragically, in March, Kambilichukwu his first son with May, passed away after experiencing a seizure while playing football at school.

The ongoing public exchanges highlight the complex and emotional dynamics within Yul Edochie’s family. The revelations on social media provide glimpses into personal struggles, loss, and disputes that have unfolded over the past year.

The actor’s decision to share these intimate details including the claim that May undertook a breast enlargement surgery on a public platform raises questions about the intersection of personal matters and social media, emphasizing the challenges of navigating private issues in a public domain.

The query at hand raises a consideration: Is it appropriate to request one’s Bride Price from an ex-wife, irrespective of the circumstances? Additionally, are there any legal grounds supporting such a request? The situation seems intricate, warranting a need for clarification to understand the nuances involved.
