Governor Fubara: Is he really foolish?

The video of a local government chairman in Rivers State calling Governor Siminayi Fubara a foolish man was on Monday morning raising outrage on social media with many twitter users asserting it as the height of political foolery.

The local government chairman had while addressing a crowd of political partisans said:

“Today, Fubara is a foolish governor, he is not a mumu governor, he is a foolish governor.”

GWG.ng reports that the assertions of the local government were posted by X user, Emma Ik Umeh late on Sunday night.

The Local Government chairman who was not publicly identified according to information was in the centre of controversy in 2016 when he was reportedly publicly flogged by security men loyal to Rotimi Amaechi during the rerun elections in the state.

The post has led to extreme reactions with many agreeing with the local government chairman that Fubara was indeed a foolish governor upon the claim that he had been laidback in his engagement with his political rivals, particularly, his predecessor and now, FCT Minister, Mr Nyesom Wike.

Others in their reactions, however, said that Fubara was being strategic in his approach to his battles with Wike with the claim that he was only bidding his time in anticipation of the Supreme Court judgment on his election and not necessarily foolish.

GWG.ng gathered some of the reactions to the post:

ADENIJI MICHAEL OLUWAFEMI @adenijimikel

The moment the governor needs to go to the president to intervene I know worse will happen to him,if he break that peace negotiation there will be crisis if he did not there will also be crisis,he should av face this without anybody intervention

Law 15: Crush Your Enemy Totally: If one ember is left alight, no matter how dim it smolders, a fire will eventually break out. More is lost through stopping halfway than through total annihilation: the enemy will recover & will seek revenge. Crush him totally but Gov. Sim failed

Yusuf Idris @yusufpolity

He has to play safe , if not they want to use court to sack him . That’s why up till now they are delaying the court case until he fulfills all the agreements or else he will be sack by the court . Once Fubara gets judgment he will certainly do them shege.

Yemi @Yemiakusebo

Fubara is fooling around! Wike and his boys do not deserve to be treated as gentlemen

FLOKI OF PORT HARCOURT @kazeem_alvin

Plenty of us don’t know why the Governor @SimFubaraKSC

is silent. Just wait till after the court ruling and see. He that pushes a king to the wall sins against his own soul. Wait and see the lion in a sheep clothing after court ruling so many will beg but forgiveness is a sin

Henry Mark @henrmark

Did he not sign an agreement?? Leave this your agenda because Wike stopped your Atiku becoming president.

There should be a level of decorum in during political disagreements. Wisdom is profitable to direct.

Classic illustration of ‘see finish’. They have finished seeing governor Fubara, unfortunately.

Very unfortunate. Each time I look at him I shake my head , I remembered how he was beaten and flogged mercilessly by Amaechi”s men during the rerun elections in 2016,. I blame sim for all these nonsense , we’re is it done? A council chairman abusing a sitting governor openly

AFRICANMAN @Xtainofficial86 in the reaction that termed Fubara as foolish said:

I told u guys fubara is weak, he can Neva win wike, en weak pass Jonathan 100 times
