DSS Gives Update On Reports It Arrested Miyetti Allah President
The Department of State Services, DSS, has denied the arrest of the president of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Bello Bodejo saying that he is not in its custody.
The spokesman of the DSS, Dr Peter Afunanya, said Bodejo was not in its custody.
In a terse statement on Tuesday night, Afunnanya said “He’s not with the DSS.”
The report of the arrest of Bodejo came after it was reported that Miyetti Allah had formed a vigilante group named Nomad Vigilate.
The arrest of Bodejo was said to have been carried out at Miyetti Allah office in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
It would be recalled that Miyetti Allah, reputed among the country’s most notable Fulani socio-cultural organisations had unveiled a vigilante group in Nasarawa last week.
Bodejo had been quoted as saying that vigilante group would assist security agencies in combating criminal activities in the north-central state.
According to him the vigilante group is made up of 1,144 Fulani youths selected from various communities in the 13 LGAs of the state.
Bodejo further said that Miyetti Allah was profiling persons interested in joining the vigilante group.
GWG.ng reports that the clarification by the DSS on the arrest of the Miyetti Allah president would bring clarity to the circumstances of Bodejo and his associates.
