U.S. Bureau Probes Hushpuppi Birthday Feast (Video)

The United States Bureau of Prisons has announced its intention to investigate Nigerian convict Ramon “Hushpuppi” Abbas, who is currently serving an 11-year sentence.

This decision comes in response to a viral video suggesting that someone believed to be Abbas was hosting a feast with others inside what was reported as his detention facility at Fort Dix, New Jersey.

In a statement to Peoples Gazette on Thursday night, the prison facility expressed seriousness about the matter, confirming that the “investigative department” would lead the inquiry to establish the facts surrounding the viral video.

Hushpuppi’s ally and social media influencer, Tunde Adekunle, popularly known as Tunde Ednut, celebrated his birthday on January 22, 2024. While the birthday celebration garnered attention across Nigeria and parts of the United States, a video surfaced showing a lavish feast featuring various foods, including jollof rice, pasta, and soda drinks, within what appeared to be a prison facility.

In the viral video, a voice, presumed to be Hushpuppi’s, stated, “Tunde Ednut, you can see that we are celebrating you in our own little way o. Fried rice is ready, Tunde Ednut birthday celebration. Jollof loading, pasta is here as you can see,” as a variety of delicacies were displayed on a white table.

The People Gazette conducted an analysis, revealing a grey double bunk and a bed covered in white sheets, features reminiscent of a prison interior. This sparked rumors that Abbas might be enjoying a celebratory gathering for his friend’s birthday while behind bars.

As the investigation unfolds, the circumstances surrounding the viral video and Hushpuppi’s alleged feast within the prison facility will be thoroughly examined by the authorities.
