Akpata In A Hurry To Occupy Govt House After Winning Edo Labour Party Ticket

Former President of the Nigeria Bar Association, Barrister Olumide Akpata has said that he is in a hurry to occupy the Government House following his emergence as the candidate of the Labour Party in Edo State.

GWG.ng reports that at the Labour Party governorship primaries on Friday, 23 February 2024 Olumide Akpata emerged the candidate with 316 out of 340 votes.

The Chairman of the Labour Party Primary Election Committee and the Deputy Governor of Abia State, Engr Emetu Ikechukwu who declared Olumide Akpata winner of the primary election praised the aspirants for the maturity exhibited during the election.

He pleaded with the aspirants to rally round the candidate to ensure that the party wins the September 2024 election.

The score are as follows:

1. Kenneth Imasuagbon – 7

2. Olumide Akpata – 316

3. Sam Eromosele Eboh – 7

4. Angela Enimien Aburime Asom – 0

5. Abegbe Ernest Osabhuohien – 3

6. Blessing Akele – 3

7. Loretta Oduware Ogboroko – 0

8. Sergius Ogun – 4

One of the aspirants, Prince Tom Tseghohi withdrew from the contest citing personal reasons.

In his acceptance message, Olumide Akpata appreciated the aspirants and pleaded for their cooperation to allow the Labour Party win the election.

He said that the victory was for the party and that a lot more work is needed to achieve positive result for the party and the state. He also said that he is in a hurry to occupy the Osadebe Avenue Government House as he intends to change the face of the state.
