A wedding ceremony in a local church took an unexpected turn when Pastor Gospel Agochukwu halted the proceedings due to the absence of the bride’s family members.

The young bride, accompanied by her groom, had already made her way down the aisle, ready to exchange vows. However, Pastor Agochukwu intervened, questioning whether she had any male relatives present to give her away in marriage. When she replied in the negative, the pastor made the decision to pause the ceremony.

Emphasizing the importance of family ties in marriage, Pastor Agochukwu explained that it was essential for a male relative to be present during such a significant occasion. He emphasised the belief that every bride has living relatives who should be represented during the ceremony, ensuring their support and presence in the union.

Undeterred by the temporary setback, the bride and groom patiently waited as efforts were made to locate her family members. Eventually, the bride’s mother and brother arrived at the ceremony, and with their presence, the wedding was able to proceed smoothly.
