Senator Ningi Makes New Clarifications On N3.7trn ‘Phantom Projects’ In Budget

Senator Abdul Ningi has rebuffed threats of suspension from the Senate and insisted on his claim that N3.7 trillion  in the N28.7 trillion budget assented to by President Bola Tinubu cannot be traced to any project.
He spoke at a press conference in the Senate Building amid claims and counter claims on the issue and alleged plots to sanction him for supposedly bringing the Senate and President Bola Tinubu into disrepute over the budget padding allegation.
However, speaking on Monday to members of the Senate Press Corp,  Senator Ningi who reiterated his claims said that he was not afraid of suspension.

Senator Ningi  insisted thaat N3.7 Trillion in the budget cannot be traced to any project in the 2024 Budget.
GWG.ng reports that Senator Ningi who is also chairman of the influential Northern Senators Forum, NSF was quick to say that he spoke for himself and not on behalf of the Northern Senators
“I spoke for myself and not on behalf of  Northener  Senator forum
“I never said  the federal government is operating two budgets.
“I only said N25 Trillion traced to  projects and N3.7 Trillion not traced to any project.”
