(3) Further to the above, the Zonal Working Committee hailed  His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for his decision to run an all-inclusive Government at the center, anchored on the principle of a Government of National Unity (GNU) which was introduced in 2007 by the late President Umaru Musa Ya’adua led PDP Government in Nigeria and further consolidated by the successive administration of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan GCFR. To this end, the Party in the Zone is pleased with the appointment of several sons and daughters of the Zone into key positions of trust at the Federal level, particularly that of His Excellency Chief Ezenwo Nyesom Wike CON as Honourable Minister of the FCT.

(4) The Zonal Working Committee is pleased with the current progress being made by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for  the execution of construction work on the very important and strategic East West Road. The Zone commends the speed at which the construction work on the road is being executed  and expresses the hope that given the importance of the road to the nation’s economy, President Tinubu should  make it a priority in seeing to the completion of the road in record time. The Zonal Working Committee also hailed President Tinubu for the award of contract for the construction of all important coastal road from Lagos to Calabar, noting that upon completion, the project has the capacity to completely transform the infrastructural landscape and positively impact the economic fortunes of the Zone and Nigeria at large.

The Zone is conscious of the negative effect of the crisis on the upcoming Gubernatorial elections in the State, coupled with the leadership crises  between His Excellency Governor Godwin Obasake and his Deputy, His Excellency Rt. To this end, the Zonal Working Committee calls on the Iliya Damagu led National Working Committee to resolve the political issues in Edo State and further calls on the Party’s BOT & NEC to urgently  intervene with a view to resolving all internal  disputes in Edo State Peoples Democratic Party.

(6) The Zonal Working Committee also examined the volatile political situation in Rivers State and expresses deep concern that the landmark  achievement by the Party in the State should not be compromised in the altar of dirty politics. The Zone therefore called on National Working Committee of the Party steps to address the matter without further delay.

(7)The Zonal Working Committee considered and approved the proposal to build a befitting permanent secretariat / headquarters structure in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
