Renowned Nigerian activist Harrison Gwamnishu has raised alarm over what he claims is a disturbing case of military brutality against a nursing mother.

Gwamnishu accuses the Nigerian military of brutality and of torturing and unlawfully detaining Igbinosa Rosemary Ese, the owner of a palm oil mill, following a raid on her establishment.

In a video shared online on Tuesday, Gwamnishu revealed that the incident occurred on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the army barracks in GRA Benin, Edo State. According to his account, soldiers from the Nigerian Army allegedly stormed Ese’s palm oil mill, accusing her of receiving stolen palm fruits.

Gwamnishu asserts that the soldiers subjected Ese to torture in an attempt to extract a confession from her. Shockingly, he claims that she was also stripped naked during the ordeal.

In a direct address to the Nigerian Army headquarters, Gwamnishu condemned the alleged actions of the soldiers, emphasizing the severity of the accusations leveled against Ese and the inhumane treatment she purportedly endured.
