Nigerian actor and politician Kenneth Okonkwo has expressed grave concerns about the direction of the country under the Bola Tinubu government, warning that Nigeria cannot be governed like Lagos.

GWG.ng reacts that he spoke in an interview with journalist Seun Okinbaloye of Channels TV

Okonkwo, who served as a spokesperson for the Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, emphasized that Nigeria cannot be governed like Lagos, where decrees are issued and expected to be followed without question.

Speaking candidly, Okonkwo criticized the current administration, stating that while he believed the Buhari government was problematic, the current government is even worse. He specifically took aim at President Tinubu for what he perceived as a disregard for protocol during a recent visit to Qatar. Okonkwo raised eyebrows at the President’s decision to allow his children to stand before federal ministers in the order of protocol, calling it a display of disrespect and diminishing the integrity of the nation’s military.

Addressing concerns about political appointments, Kenneth Okonkwo highlighted what he saw as a trend of favoritism towards individuals from the Lagos axis of the ‘Jagabanic proteges’ within the Tinubu government. He expressed dismay at the perceived concentration of power and influence within a select group, rather than a more inclusive approach that represents the diversity of Nigeria as a whole.
