The Wale Akinterinwa Campaign Organisation alleged that billboards belonging to their candidate had been targeted by thugs suspected to be supporters of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, while the latter vehemently denied these claims, labeling them as falsehood aimed at tarnishing the governor’s name.

This clash underscores the intense competition and rivalry among APC governorship aspirants in Ondo State.

Both camps are engaging in a war of words, with each side attempting to discredit the other.

The Wale Akinterinwa Campaign Organisation is urging Governor Aiyedatiwa to rein in his supporters and address the alleged vandalism, while the Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation is dismissing the accusations as baseless and urging the Akinterinwa camp to conduct an internal investigation to determine the cause of the billboard damage.

As the primary election draws nearer, the political landscape in Ondo State is becoming increasingly charged, with accusations, denials, and counter-accusations dominating the discourse.

The outcome of this confrontation could significantly impact the dynamics within the APC and influence the gubernatorial race in the state. It remains to be seen how the party leadership and security agencies will respond to these allegations and maintain peace and order in the run-up to the primary election.
